This one-of-a-kind artwork is entirely handmade—each element hand cut and hand woven from thoughtfully sourced antique and vintage papers. The background features original marbled paper rescued from a late-1800s book that had begun to fall apart, preserving its history in a new form. The hand is cut from softly aged, time-stained paper, while the ring is a delicate snippet of vintage gold metallic paper.
At the center, the heart is crafted from a page of an old French ledger, layered with meaning and quiet romance. The cuff is cut from a 1940s floral lithograph, adding a gentle touch of mid-century color and pattern.
The piece is housed in an authentic late-1800s frame. Though much of the original velvet has worn away with time, opening the doors reveals a beautiful remaining wash of rich fuchsia. The original wire easel remains intact on the back.
