I think this would be the perfect engagement or wedding gift for a couple who love history and times past.
The hand was cut from an 1800s French letter. The heart is from a late 1800s French store receipt. I made the pleated cuff from aged paper. A tiny gold metallic dot is on the 1/16” ring band. It was cut from decorative paper that graced the back of a vintage Italian picture frame.
The antique gold frame with twisted trim was often used as a mourning frame, to hold a photograph of a loved one that had passed away.
This piece measures about 2 1/2” x 2 1/2”.
I always hand cut my hearts and hands with big utility scissors. No templates or die cuts are ever used.
