This is definitely a favorite of my 2026 collection!
The hand is cut from black paper that was the dust cover on a large vintage print. The heart is from an 1898 French document. The script handwriting is lovely! The background is marbled paper from a late 1800s book. The tiny ring is a snippet from ann 1899 French shop receipt. Beautiful, old lace purchased in an antique shop in Dunnellon, FLorinda 20 years ago creates the frilly cuff.
The tarnished silver frame is engraved wi5 scroll acanthus leaves. It is worn, showing its age and use of years gone by. I believe it is silver-plate, unless I overlooked a silver hallmark.
This piece measures about 6” x 4 1/4”.
I always hand cut my hearts and hands with big utility scissors. No templates or die cuts are ever used.
